Liverpool are plotting a last-minute swoop of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada, who is set to join AC Milan next week.

According to Calciomercato.it, Liverpool are keen on having Daichi Kamada in their ranks. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder is all set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt and join AC Milan. Kamada has a verbal agreement with the Italian club. But Liverpool have not lost hope yet and are looking to push one final time.

The 26-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons. The Japan international had an exceptional FIFA World Cup 2022. And, he has been a consistent performer for German club Eintracht Frankfurt throughout the 2022/23 season. Kamada has featured in 46 matches in all competitions and has been involved in 23 goals.

The Japanese attacking midfielder has found the back of the net on 16 occasions and has seven assists to his name. His contract with the Bundesliga club runs out in the summer. While Frankfurt were keen on penning a new deal with the 26-year-old, he was keen on moving onto a bigger club ahead of next season.

AC Milan were one of the first clubs to push for his services. And, ever since he was made aware of their interest, the 26-year-old has given priority to the Italian giants. He has already given the green light to the move and the final details of the deal were discussed recently.

The deal between Milan and Kamada is effectively closed. The Japan international is expected to put pen to paper on a four-year contract that will see him earn around €3 million per season. Milan expect him to arrive at the club’s base next week to complete the process that will lead to the official announcement.

While the deal is effectively closed, Liverpool have not given up. The Merseyside club have been keen on having the 26-year-old in their ranks for a while now. And, they are all set to once again push for his services before he puts pen to paper.

Liverpool are looking to lure Kamada to the club with much better wages. The fact that the Japan international is available for free is something that is of great interest to the Merseyside club.

They need to sign multiple midfielders to revive themselves. And bringing in someone with the qualities of Kamada for free will help them with other signings. As a result, they are ready to offer him better wages than Milan to lure him to Anfield.
