Liverpool in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach for Manu Kone

Liverpool are reportedly hoping to sign Manu Kone, valued at around €40 million, from Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the season.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have opened talks with Borussia Monchengladbach for Manu Kone. And they have been informed of the asking price for the 22-year-old Frenchman, worth around €40 million.

Kone has been a key player for the German club this past season, and he could prove to be a solid long-term investment for Liverpool. The midfielder is reportedly valued between €35 million and €40 million, which could prove to be a bargain in today’s market. Liverpool have also spoken to the midfielder’s represntatives.

The imposing midfielder will add defensive cover, creativity and flair in the middle of the park. He could be the ideal long-term replacement for Fabinho. The Brazilian international midfielder has not been at his best over the past year. So Liverpool will have to start planning for a future without him.

Kone would be a top-class acquisition for the Reds and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to pay the asking price. Liverpool certainly have the resources to pay €40 million for the midfielder. So they should look to get the deal done quickly by sealing an agreement with Bundesliga giants Borussia Monchengladbach.

Liverpool need to bring in multiple reinforcements this summer, especially after losing three midfielders as free agents. Apart from Kone, they have been linked with Alexis Mac Allister and Khephren Thuram as well.

The opportunity to play for a big club will be an attractive option for the talented young Frenchman, and he will be excited to move to the Premier League. It would be a major step up in his career, and working with a manager like Jurgen Klopp could accelerate his development.

The 22-year-old has all the attributes to develop into a world-class midfielder in the near future. Liverpool have a proven track record of nurturing talented young players into established stars. So the move would be ideal for all parties and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
