Chelsea ready to sell Kai Havertz for €60 million

Chelsea could ponder selling Kai Havertz in the summer to raise funds and might consider bids worth €60 million.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea could consider offers for Kai Havertz as they plan a clearout. The 23-year-old star could go for €60 million as Todd Boehly looks to balance the squad and bring in new stars to start a new project under Mauricio Pochettino.

Kai Havertz continues to divide opinion, whether it’s the Chelsea fan base or neutral supporters. The German international has proved his worth with an important goal to win the Champions Lague under Tuchel. Beyond that, there are considerable doubts about whether he has a future at the club.

Those questions emerged in the aftermath of their most disastrous season in the last 20 years. Players, including Havertz, have underwhelmed and did not play at the expected levels. The German is not alone here, as expensive stars like Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana are all on the same boat.

Chelsea came up with a new plan and want to build a project capable of challenging for honours in the coming years. For starters, they have appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager. The Argentine may request new players and possibly look to offload a bunch of current ones.

Chelsea are planning to bring in new players and are keen to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP. They also want to bring a striker on priority, with a host of names suggested as potential targets. Meanwhile, Todd Boehly must offload a host of current stars to balance their books.

At least two of their homegrown stars, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount, could leave in the summer. Levi Colwill and Conor Gallagher are also on the list, while the club might consider good offers for other players if they can find the right suitors.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to consider 23-year-old star Havertz’s future for €60 million. The club will still take a sizeable hit on the value at that price, considering they signed him for more. The German might attract considerable interest in the market, with a move back to Germany also likely.

Chelsea could use the funds generated from the sale to buy new players. They are keen on some bargain deals, such as bringing Marcus Thuram on a free transfer, but those with expensive price tags are also suggested.

As for Havertz, they may not consider anything less than €60 million for the 23-year-old star. Whether he makes a case for himself in pre-season and convinces Pochettino to retain him cannot get ruled out just yet.

However, Havertz is one of those players who could fetch a decent market value and help Chelsea with some funds. There might also be some Premier League clubs willing to take him. At this stage, only a club like Bayern Munich might tempt him over a return to the Bundesliga.
