Harry Kane has been linked with a summer move away from Tottenham Hotspur, with Manchester United pushing for his signature.

A report from Daily Mirror claims that Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to resist Manchester United’s attempts to sign 29-year-old England international Harry Kane this summer, and they will look to block the move.

Kane has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2024, and he will be a free agent next year. Tottenham could be under pressure to cash in on him this summer if he refuses to sign an extension with them. With just 12 months left to run on the deal, Tottenham are clearly not in a position of power right now.

In addition, widespread reports have claimed that the 29-year-old is open to joining Manchester United. So it will be interesting to see what the player decides. Meanwhile, the Red Devils are ready to step up their efforts to sign the England captain.

Kane is one of the best players in the world, and his departure will certainly weaken total them severely. The 29-year-old has carried the Tottenham attack all by himself this season, scoring 30 goals in the league.

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham, and they have missed out on Champions League qualification. A player like Kane will want his team to compete at the highest level and play for a club capable of winning major trophies. Tottenham are certainly not at that level right now and they are without a permanent manager as well.

They are yet to bring in a quality replacement for Antonio Conte, who was sacked earlier this season. Former midfielder Ryan Mason is currently the interim manager at the club. Tottenham have been linked with a number of managers in recent weeks. But they have not been able to finalise an appointment yet.

Kane will probably look to gauge the ambition of the club before committing his long-term future to them. Meanwhile, Manchester United are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, and they need to sign a quality partner for Marcus Rashford.

Kane could form a lethal partnership with his compatriot at Old Trafford next season. But it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can convince Tottenham to do business with them for the 29-year-old English international.
