Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is expected to join Real Madrid in the coming weeks.

According to journalist James Pearce, Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the England international but they decided to drop out of the race after they found out that a move to Anfield was not Bellingham’s priority.

It seems that the midfielder was considering the interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid simultaneously. The Spanish chants are now set to secure his services soon. Liverpool have not been able to match up to the player’s asking price. 

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in world football and he has the attributes to develop into a world-class player. Real Madrid needed to bring in central midfield reinforcements this summer and Bellingham should prove to be a superb long-term investment.

The England international will add physicality, creativity and control in the middle of the park. The likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are on their last legs and Real Madrid need to replace them adequately. Signing a player like Bellingham would be ideal and he could prove to be the ideal replacement for Luka Modric in the coming seasons.

The England midfielder has 14 goals across all competitions this season and he has the ability to compete at the highest level. A move to Real Madrid would be the ideal next step in his career and he will look to fulfill his potential with regular game time at the Spanish club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are now looking at potential alternatives and it will be interesting to see if they can strengthen their midfield adequately before the start of the new season.

Liverpool have recently lost players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita on free transfers and they will have to bring in multiple midfielders during the summer transfer window.

The Premier League side are reportedly keen on signing the World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion. They have been linked with players like Romeo Lavia and Manuel Ugarte in recent weeks as well.
