According to Fabrizio Romano, Julian Alvarez will continue at Manchester City despite the interest from Bayern Munich. The German giants were keen on having him in their ranks on loan but it seems he will stay in Manchester.
Alvarez came through the ranks at River Plate before joining City in the winter of 2022. He penned a deal with the English club in the winter but stayed at the Argentine club on loan for another six months. He moved to England ahead of the ongoing season.

The 23-year-old forward had a sensational FIFA World Cup 2022. He was integral to their success in the global event. And, similar has been his performances for Pep Guardiola’s team in the Premier League.
Despite not being a regular starter, the Argentine forward has racked up impressive numbers. In his 30 league outings, the 23-year-old has 10 goal contributions despite being on the pitch for just 1,363 minutes.
As far as all competitions are concerned, Alvarez has 22 goal contributions in his 48 outings. He has found the back of the net on 17 occasions and also has five assists to his name.
The 23-year-old was not that pleased with his game time and was considering his future. However, he penned down a new deal with the club recently and his contract runs until the summer of 2028.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich were keen on having the City forward in their ranks. The German giants are yet to replace star forward Robert Lewandowski who left for Barcelona.
They wanted to sign a new forward who could add goals to their squad. And, they believed Alvarez could have been a great addition. Bayern were keen on bringing him on loan ahead of next season.
But, Romano believes there is no chance that he will leave the club on loan. While there is a lot of interest in his services, a loan move is surely not in the scheme of things. However, the transfer expert doesn’t rule out a permanent move despite the new contract that he penned down.
