Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves amidst reports of a Barcelona agreement.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in signing Ruben Neves ahead of next season. The 26-year-old is likely to part ways with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the upcoming transfer window. And, there are a lot of clubs keen on having him in their ranks.

Neves came through the ranks at FC Porto before joining Wolves in the summer of 2017. He has gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons and is currently amongst the best players at the club.

The Portugal international has been involved in 40 matches so far this season and has seven goal contributions to his name. While he has been a great servant for the club, the 26-year-old could be parting ways with the club in the summer.

With just over a year left in his contract, Wolves don’t really have any options to pay with, they will have to listen to offers for the 26-year-old as they wouldn’t want to risk losing out on him for free in the following summer window.

His contract with Wolves runs out in the summer of 2024. Meanwhile, the Portugal international has already decided to part ways with the club. He has already bid farewell to fans during an emotional lap of honour.

And, reports suggest they will let him leave if a club meets their asking price of £50 million. Meanwhile, Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on having Neves in their ranks. The Merseyside clubs’ enquiry about Neves’ availability in the winter was turned down.

However, they are all set to return in the summer. The Reds are keen on completing an overhaul in the centre of the park. With James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set to leave the club after the end of the season, Liverpool need to sign multiple world-class midfielders and they have their eyes set on Neves.

Meanwhile, Barcelona could make life difficult for the Merseyside club. The Catalan giants are keen on bolstering their midfield ahead of next season and their priority is to replace Sergio Busquets who is set to leave the club after 18 long years.

And, as per reports, the Catalan giants already have a verbal agreement in place for the signatures of the 26-year-old. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can win the race for his signatures.
