Manchester United are keen to sign Tyler Adams in the summer as Leeds United fear they will lose the midfielder if they get relegated.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United could swoop in for Tyler Adams in the summer. Leeds United are keen to hold on to the USMNT star but fears they might lose the £20 million midfielder if they suffer relegation.

Leeds United may have escaped relegation last season with a few games to spare. But that is not the case this time. They are in the thick of the relegation battle, entering the season’s final game. It is a twisted scenario on the final day, as two of three teams will go down into the Championship.

Leeds United face Tottenham Hotspur, who may have a European place at stake, meaning the game will have a pressure situation on both ends. The Whites will hope for survival, and if they cannot stay up, they might lose some of their key stars.

For starters, they are not planning to sign Weston McKennie permanently from Juventus. The biggest fear is losing fellow USMNT midfielder, Tyler Adams, with Manchester United reportedly circling in the background. Erik ten Hag wants new midfielders to bolster his squad and may see Leeds’s £20 million summer signing as an ideal competitor for Casemiro.

Manchester United will enter the market with multiple requirements, with a new striker and attacking midfielder also on their agenda. Mason Mount remains a top target for ten Hag, with the club ready to make an offer for the Chelsea man.

They are also ready to step up the chase for Harry Kane, who remains their top striker target. As for the new midfielders, they will continue to explore many options, with a few from Premier League clubs themselves.

Everton’s Amadou Onana remains a target, but his potential £60 million asking price could be a problem for Manchester United. Hence, Tyler Adams could come across as a realistic target considering he will have a considerably low price point.

Leeds may want to keep the USMNT star irrespective of their status next season. However, if they did suffer relegation, they might see Tyler Adams as one who could fetch a decent fee. Having arrived at a £20 million deal, including add-ons from RB Leipzig, the Whites will hope for a £35 million plus fee if they are to sell him.

Tyler Adams has excelled since joining Leeds, and his absence has coincided with the Whites’ wretched form of late. However, he could play for any Premier League side in the current table, including Manchester United. At Old Trafford, he will best come in as a backup to Casemiro, although the Red Devils need that kind of player to add quality depth to the squad.
