Ben Jacobs has claimed Tottenham are reportedly interested in Max Kilman, with the north Londoners eyeing key defensive reinforcements in the summer.
According to Ben Jacobs via Caught Offside, Tottenham maintain an interest in Max Kilman. The north Londoners are insistent on signing a new centre-back, with many options considered ahead of the summer window.
Tottenham have plenty of work ahead of the summer as Daniel Levy looks to make some key appointments. While they are angling for a top-notch manager, a new sporting director remains on the agenda. Once they wrap up those appointments, Spurs will focus on their recruitment strategy.
While a host of positions need strengthening, including some key areas of their backline. For a long while, Tottenham have been searching for a quality central defender, but their search has not produced any meaningful results.
When Conte was in charge, he desperately wanted to bring Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni, which may have been possible had Tottenham finished in the top four. However, with their current plight, some top names may not prefer to join them, leaving the north Londoners to search for other options.
Recently, they were reportedly linked with Marc Guehi but have plenty of competition from Premier League rivals. Once again, Champions League qualification will play a part in chasing the Palace star, who could have top four clubs chasing down his signature.
Meanwhile, they are keen to rival Barcelona for Aymeric Laporte but could face failure in luring the Man City star. They might revisit their interest in Max Kilman, with Tottenham having kept constant tabs on the 26-year-old defender.
Kilman has had an indifferent season with the Wolves but did make an impression on Julian Lopetegui. He has not started as many games as he would have wanted, but he certainly remained a strong part of the core setup. He will know the growing interest in the background, with Liverpool also one of the clubs mentioned at some stage.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reckons Tottenham are still keen to explore signing Kilman during the summer. He said, “There’s also interest in centre-back Max Kilman, who several Premier League clubs admiration. He perhaps hasn’t had as consistent a season as in 2021/22, but I also don’t think he’s reached his full potential yet. Lopetegui has been encouraging him to be more positive on the ball.”
Wolves would consider an offer that meets their valuations, which could skyrocket amid high demand. The 26-year-old defender has a contract until 2026 with the option of another year. Hence, the Midlands side will not rush into accepting any offers that come through the door initially.
Tottenham may have a task to convince Wolves to sell him, but the Midlands side will not sell before finding a replacement. The whole situation could take plenty of time to conclude, but Spurs will hope no other bigger side comes in for the 26-year-old defender.
