Mount came through the ranks at Chelsea after joining them back in 2005. He was subject to multiple loan moves to gain first-team experience. After a successful loan spell at Derby County, the 24-year-old was promoted to their first team. And, post that he has managed to establish himself as an important player for their first team.
The England international played an integral role in helping them win the Champions League a few seasons back. The Blues have spent a fortune on acquiring new players over the past few windows. Despite that, Mount still remains an important part of their first team. However, his future at the club is uncertain.
The 24-year-old’s contract runs out in the summer of 2024. Despite numerous attempts, the club have failed to pen a new deal with the England international. Mauricio Pochettino, who is set to be Chelsea’s new boss, is a big admirer of Mount.
The former Tottenham boss wants him at the club and would love to see him extend his deal. However, it looks unlikely at this point in time. Meanwhile, Liverpool are one of the clubs keen on having the midfielder, who has a market value of €65 million, in their ranks.
