Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing 28-year-old Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes at the end of the season.
Leandro Paredes will return to PSG after his deal with Juventus ends in the summer. And El Futbolero have relayed information that Chelsea are hoping to sign the 28-year-old up on a free transfer.
Paredes can operate as a central midfielder as well as a defensive midfielder. He could prove to be a useful addition to the Chelsea squad. Signing a player of his experience on a free transfer could prove to be a wise decision.
Chelsea need to add more quality and depth to their midfield, and Paredes would be a good option to have especially on a cut-price sum. The Blues could lose N’Golo Kante at the end of the season when his contract expires.
They will have to bring in a replacement for the Frenchman in that case. Although Paredes is not similar to the French international, he has the experience and quality to form a quality partnership with his compatriot Enzo Fernandes at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old has shown his quality at big clubs like Paris Saint Germain and Juventus. He is certainly good enough to play for Chelsea. However, the World Cup-winning midfielder has not been at his best this season and will have to improve in order to establish himself as a key player for Chelsea.
The Argentine international recently won the World Cup with his country and will be hoping to take the next step in his club career as well. A move to Chelsea would allow him to challenge for major trophies in the coming season. But the West Londoners have also shown interest in other midfielders like Joshua Kimmich.
Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world with massive transfer resources. They have recently spent around €600 million on new signings since the change of ownership and are looking to put together a formidable squad, capable of winning league titles and the UEFA Champions League.
Paredes will be hoping to join them in the coming weeks and be a part of the revolution at Stamford Bridge under Todd Boehly. Chelsea certainly have the financial resources to offer him a lucrative contract, and the 28-year-old is likely to be tempted to move to the Premier League.
