Nottingham Forest are interested in acquiring the services of 26-year-old Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson on a permanent basis.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest want to sign Dean Henderson on a permanent basis. The 26-year-old has done a great job since arriving at the club on loan from Manchester United. Henderson’s impressive performances have forced the club to think about a permanent move.

The 26-year-old joined Manchester United back in 2011. He has come through the ranks and has been subject to multiple loan moves. But despite impressing in his loan spells, he has not managed to become a regular at Old Trafford. With David de Gea all set to renew his contract, it is unlikely that Henderson will get an opportunity to be the number one at United for a few more seasons and he could consider his future.

The 26-year-old was loaned out to Nottingham Forest ahead of the ongoing season. He has featured in 18 Premier League matches and has six clean sheets to his name. While injuries have not been kind to him in the current campaign, the England international has done wonders in the limited opportunities he has had.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have managed to survive in the English top flight, and they have already started planning for the upcoming transfer window. They are currently 16th in the league and have a six-point advantage over 18th-placed Leeds United with a game to go.

With the Tricky Trees guaranteed to feature in the Premier League next season, they are looking to sort out their goalkeeping situations. Keylor Navas, who was loaned in during the winter window to cover for the injured Henderson. And the veteran is all set to return to his parent club Paris Saint-Germain after the end of the season.

Even Henderson is all set to return to his parent club. But Forest are planning to sign him on a permanent basis. His contract at Manchester United runs until the summer of 2025. However, his future at the club is uncertain, with de Gea still the number one choice in goal.

Henderson could push for a move away from the club, and Nottingham Forest are looking to make an offer to United for the services of the 26-year-old.
