Real Madrid have reignited their pursuit of 25-year-old RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku, who is reconsidering joining Chelsea.
According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid are looking to once again push for the services of Christopher Nkunku. The 25-year-old forward, who is all set to join Chelsea in the summer, is reconsidering joining the Blues. And, Los Blancos are very attentive to the situation as they eye a possible last-minute swoop.
Nkunku has an agreement in place with Chelsea that will see him join the Premier League club ahead of next season. The Blues managed to seal an agreement for the talented forward at the beginning of the year. And, they are all set to pay around €60 million for the services of the 25-year-old.
However, the Frenchman is reconsidering joining the Blues who are struggling in every possible way. Their sporting project is all over the place, and they have spent a fortune on new players. But on the pitch, they have been second best to most teams.
Chelsea’s poor run in the ongoing season means they are all set to miss out on Champions League football for next season. Nkunku is someone who wants to be a part of the biggest club competition in the world. But with the Blues out of the race of the UCL, he is now unsure about the move.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are ready to reignite their pursuit of the 25-year-old. Los Blancos want to incorporate a new forward into their ranks ahead of next season. They were in the race for Nkunku’s services back in the day before his reported signing with the Blues.
And, with reports of the French international being unsure about joining Chelsea, Real Madrid are ready to once again push for his services. Nkunku is a versatile player who can feature in multiple positions in attack, and he could a great addition to the Madrid ranks. The RB Leipzig forward has been involved in 27 goals in his 34 outings this season. He has found the back of the net on 20 occasions and he could surely bolster Los Blancos’ attack.
He could act as a great cover for Karim Benzema and can even start on either of the wings. If needed the 25-year-old could even feature as an attacking midfielder. His versatility is exactly what Real Madrid need at this point in time to revive themselves after a rare poor season despite winning the Copa del Rey.
