Arsenal have held positive talks with 21-year-old

According to Fabrizio Romano via GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal are keen on having Moises Caicedo in their ranks ahead of next season. The 21-year-old has been on their radar for a while now, and they are expected to go all out for him in the summer.

Caicedo joined Brighton back in the winter of 2021. Initially, he was subject to a loan move in order to gain first-team experience. Post that he has managed to register himself as a regular feature in their first team.

The 21-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the past year. He has featured in a total of 41 matches in the ongoing season and has been involved in two goals. The Ecuador international has been the mainstay of their team and has hardly put a foot wrong in the ongoing season.

The Gunners were keen on acquiring his services in the winter. They went all out to sign him, however, their bid was rejected by the Seagulls. They did not want to lose out on their star midfielder midway through the season.

Just after the end of the winter window, Caicedo penned down a new deal with Brighton. His new contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027. However, he could be on the move in the summer given the amount of interest in his services.

The Seagulls are ready to let him leave if they receive a bid close to £70 million. And, Arsenal are ready to reignite their pursuit of the Brighton midfielder. As per reports, the Gunners will have a budget of around £200 million for the summer. And, their priority is to sign a new midfielder. They have their eyes on both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo. The Gunners have already held talks with representatives of the Brighton midfielder.

Romano on Caicedo to Arsenal via GIVEMESPORT, “It’s not going to be easy for sure because, for Caicedo, there is a lot of interest. All the top English clubs are working around Moises Caicedo, so it’s not easy.

“This is why Arsenal tried to sign him in January. They wanted to be fast because they knew it would be complicated to attack the Moises Caicedo situation in the summer. But, for sure, there is Arsenal interest, and there has been a conversation with the player’s side.”

While the Gunners are keen on having the 21-year-old in their ranks, it won’t be easy as many other Premier League clubs are interested in his services. But, the fact that they have already held talks with the player’s representatives can help their cause.
