Arsenal are hoping to agree on a new deal with club captain and midfield metronome Martin Odegaard in the coming months.

Martin Odegaard has been an indispensable asset for Arsenal this season, scoring 15 goals and picking up eight assists in the Premier League. He is one of the main reasons why the Gunners have pushed for the Premier League title. A report from 90min claims that the two parties will now look to enter talks regarding a contract renewal.

Odegaard is still only 24 and is likely to get better with experience and coaching. He has the tools to develop into one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. So Arsenal must do everything in their power to hold on to him for the long term.

The Gunners will look to compete in the Champions League next year, and they need players like him in order to do well in the major tournaments. The former Real Madrid ace joined Arsenal permanently in 2021 and has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet under Mikel Arteta.

The Norwegian international is currently the captain of the club as well. Odegaard is clearly a valued member of the Arsenal team and is likely to be open to a contract renewal if an offer is presented in the coming weeks. The 24-year-old is enjoying his football at the North London club, and there is no reason for him to leave them in the coming months.
