Real Madrid are all set to battle it out with Manchester City for the signatures of 22-year-old Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are keen on having Alphonso Davies in their ranks. But, they are not the only ones pushing for the signatures of the 22-year-old Bayern Munich full-back. Even Manchester City want to land him at the club ahead of next season.

Davies came into the limelight while playing in the Major League Soccer. His performances attracted the attention of German giants Bayern Munich, who managed to sign him in the winter of 2019. The 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength during his time at the club.

The Canadian international has been involved in 153 matches for Bayern and has a total of 33 goal contributions. He has played an important part in their success over the last few seasons. While his current contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025, his future at the club is uncertain.

Manchester City and Real Madrid are two European powerhouses who want to acquire his services. Los Blancos are in search of a new right back. Their manager Carlo Ancelotti does not count on Ferland Mendy for next season. The French full-back has struggled with injury and Ancelotti has asked him to look for a new club as per reports..

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have identified Davies as the perfect replacement for Mendy. However, they will face tough competition from Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s team do not have an out-and-out left-back in their team at this point in time. And, they want to incorporate a new one ahead of next season.

Davies’ pace and his dribbling qualities make him a deadly weapon who could surely help Guardiola’s cause. And, City are willing to splash the cash to acquire him. However, it won’t be easy for either Real Madrid or Manchester City to sign the 22-year-old. Bayern are very happy with the full-back and have no intentions of letting him leave.

They are ready to offer him a new contract with increased wages that will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2028. With Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern all keen on having him in their ranks, the decision is now with the player. And, it will be interesting to see if he wants to stay in Germany or look for a move to Spain or England.
