Chelsea are scouting the 24-year-old Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of a potential summer transfer move.
According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Chelsea are keen on having Victor Osimhen in the ranks ahead of next season. They had recently sent scouts to watch the Nigerian international in action. The 24-year-old has been on fire in the ongoing season, and quite a few clubs are keen on having his services.
Osimhen joined the Serie A club back in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille. He has gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons. The 24-year-old has been in sensational form in front of goal in the ongoing campaign.
He has been involved in 36 matches and has contributed towards 33 goals. He has found the back of the net on 28 occasions and also has five assists to his name. The Nigerian international has played an important role in helping his side win the Serie A.
His performances have attracted a lot of attention from across the globe. Meanwhile, the Blues had sent an official to watch Victor Osimhen in action against Monza. Chelsea might have sent a scout to watch the Nigerian in action but the purpose might not be scouting him rather they might be trying to let him know of their interest.
The Blues want to bring in a star forward ahead of next season. They have struggled to score goals in the ongoing season. They want to incorporate a new forward to sort things out and make them a more competitive outfit.
Chelsea have their eyes on Napoli forward Osimhen, who has been on another level in the ongoing season. While his contract with the Italian club runs until the summer of 2025, the 24-year-old could be on the move in the summer given the amount of interest in his services.
While the Blues are keen on having him in their ranks, they will have to break the bank and pay around €160 million to prise him away from Napoli. The Serie A club are in no hurry to let him leave and won’t be reducing their asking price. With numerous clubs keen on signing him and a huge price tag, it will be interesting to see if the Blues can land him at the club ahead of next season.
