Manchester United are keen on signing 28-year-old Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot amidst interest from Newcastle United.
According to L’Équipe via Get Football News France, Manchester United are pushing for the signatures of Adrien Rabiot. The 28-year-old is all set to part ways with Juventus in the summer as a free agent, and United are keen on adding him to their ranks.
The 28-year-old was on fire in the FIFA World Cup 2022. He made sure that the French national team did not miss their superstar midfielders who were ruled out due to injury. Rabiot managed to guide them to the final of the competition.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old joined Juventus back in the summer of 2019 as a free agent. Initially, Rabiot did struggle to get going. But of late, he has been the mainstay of their team. The French international has featured in 43 matches and has been involved in a total of 15 goals.
His Juventus contract runs out in the summer. And, the 28-year-old is all set to part ways with the club. Meanwhile, there are quite a few clubs after his signatures. In the recent past, Rabiot has talked about his desire to play in the Premier League and he might make a move to England in the summer.
Rabiot said during a press conference at the World Cup: “I don’’ have a favorite team, there isn’t really a club where I would necessarily like to play. It is above all the league and its level that attract me. I also think that the way of playing there matches my qualities more.”
Manchester United are one of the club keen on having the French international in their ranks. The Red Devils are in search of a new midfielder. And Rabiot is one of their key targets. Erik ten Hag is pushing for his arrival, the Dutch manager has already had a talk with the Frenchman regarding a move to Old Trafford.
The Frenchman’s recent form suggests that he could be a great addition to the Red Devils’ ranks. However, they are not the only ones in the race for his signatures. Even Newcastle United want to acquire the services of the 28-year-old.
The Magpies are all set to feature in the Champions League next season. And Eddie Howe is keen on bolstering his squad to be competitive in both the Premier League and the UCL. He wants to incorporate multiple midfielders in his ranks. And, he believes Rabiot could do wonders for them.
The Frenchman could help them take the next step. But, reports, suggests that Manchester United are leading the race for the 28-year-old’s services and ten Hag’s conversations with Rabiot might have played a big role in that.
