Ansu Fati does not want to join Wolverhampton Wanderers

Ansu Fati reportedly does not want to join Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers if and when he leaves Barcelona.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Ansu Fati has taken a definitive decision on his future. The Barcelona forward might warm to the idea of departing from Spotify Camp Nou in the summer transfer window. But he will not join Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers as they will not play in Europe next season.

Ansu Fati has endured a fall from grace after recent fitness horrors. Pundits and fans alike hailed the 20-year-old as Lionel Messi’s heir at Spotify Camp Nou soon after he made his Barcelona debut. But a spate of injuries has stunted his progress, reducing him to a shell of the player he was a few years ago.

The Spanish international has been in and out of the side for much of the 2022/23 season. And he has not even managed 2,000 minutes of game time while amassing seven goals and four assists. And his market value has dropped to €35 million. Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Barcelona might cash in on Fati in the summer transfer window. Such a situation has alerted several clubs, including Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have attempted to and failed to sign game-changers for the attack for several years. Diego Costa, Hwang Hee-chan, Goncalo Guedes, and Pablo Sarabia have all tried and failed to make a mark. And with the list not ending with the quartet, the Black Country outfit must sign a top-class attacker this summer.

Ansu Fati has thus emerged as a viable target for the Premier League club. And recent reports have claimed that a part-exchange deal involving the Barcelona forward might be on the cards. But the 20-year-old is not interested in moving to the Molineux in the summer transfer window.

The Spanish international does not see a bright future for himself if he joins the Midlands outfit. And he does not see much potential in the Premier League club, which is why he is reluctant to move to the Molineux. Such a stance will come as a blow for Barcelona, who recently struck a verbal agreement for Ruben Neves.

Meanwhile, Fati is a target for several other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. And those two teams will offer him European football next season. But it will be interesting to see if either English giant will present an offer for the 20-year-old forward to Barcelona.
