The former Manchester City attacker could move to the Premier League in a deal worth around €42 million at the end of the season. Aston Villa are set to bring in the Mateu Alemany from Barcelona, and he is hoping to facilitate a move for Torres this summer.

The 23-year-old has not been a regular starter for Barcelona, and he needs to play more often at the stage of his career. He has seven goals and two assists to his name across all competitions this season. A move to Aston Villa could be ideal for the talented young attacker.

Aston Villa have shown a lot of improvement since the arrival of Emery and the Spanish manager will be hoping to guide the West Midlands club to a trophy in the coming season. It is no secret that Aston Villa will have to improve their attacking options here in the summer transfer window. They have been overly reliant on Ollie Watkins, who has carried the Aston Villa attack this season.

The 27-year-old striker clearly needs more help and support from his teammates. And signing a versatile attacker like Torres would be a good decision. The Barcelona attacker can operate anywhere across the front three, and he could prove to be a handy option for Unai Emery and Aston Villa in the coming seasons.

It remains to be seen whether he can convince the player to move to Villa Park in the coming weeks now.
