Barcelona and Liverpool are all set to battle it out for 25-year-old Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

According to AS, Barcelona and Liverpool are ready to go all out for the services of Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The 25-year-old has set the stage on fire in the ongoing season. And, numerous big clubs from across Europe have their eyes on him.

Guimaraes joined the Magpies in the winter of 2022. He has gone from strength to strength since joining the English club. The 25-year-old has been involved in a total of 53 matches and has 15 goal contributions.

The Brazil international has nine goal contributions in his 36 outings in the ongoing season. He has been a rock in front of his defence. And, Guimaraes has played a major role in their success in the ongoing season.

While his contract at Newcastle runs until the summer of 2026, his future is still uncertain because of the amount of interest in his services. The Magpies are well aware of the situation and are willing to offer him a new contract with a significant pay hike which will make him their highest-paid player.

However, the 25-year-old will decide his future after the end of the ongoing season. And, if the Magpies do manage to seal a Champions League spot, he might end up staying.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Liverpool are ready to push for his services. While it won’t be easy to prise him away from Newcastle, the Euro giants are willing to go the distance in their pursuit of the Brazil international.

The Merseyside club are looking for a midfield overhaul in the summer. Jurgen Klopp’s men will look to sign multiple midfielders ahead of next season. While their priority was Jude Bellingham, the 19-year-old is likely to choose Real Madrid over Liverpool. And, they are now ready to shift their focus towards Guimaraes.

Liverpool are ready to pay around €100 million for the services of the 25-year-old. Meanwhile, Barcelona are also eager to have him in their ranks. The Catalan giants are ready to offload a few of their star players in order to balance the books and then push for new players.

With Sergio Busquets set to leave the club at the end of the season, pushing for Guimaraes makes a lot of sense. He has similar qualities and can fill those big boots. However, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to make a bid close to €100 million.
