Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing SL Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos, who will cost around £70-100 million.

Goncalo Ramos has been in fine form the season, scoring 24 goals across all competitions. According to Daily Mirror, Manchester United are now ready to break the bank in order to secure his services. They also want to open talks with Benfica for the Portuguese international, who will cost around £70-100 million.

Ramos is highly rated around Europe, and he has a big future ahead of him. The 21-year-old scored a memorable hat-trick in the World Cup, and he could be a key player for club and country in the coming seasons.

It is no secret that Manchester United will have to bring in attacking reinforcements at the end of the season and Ramos could prove to be a superb acquisition. But while he has emerged as a viable target, the young striker is likely to cost between £70-100 million. The Red Devils have been linked with Tottenham striker Harry Kane as well.

However, Kane is likely to cost a premium, and Tottenham might not be keen on letting him leave. Ramos has already shown his quality in his homeland, and he will be tempted to test himself at a higher level. The Premier League could be the ideal next step in his career, and regular football in England will aid his development.

Manchester United are highly likely to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, and they will be an attractive destination for most players. The Red Devils have shown a lot of improvement under new manager Erik ten Hag, and they have already won the League Cup this season.

They will be hoping to challenge for the major trophies next year. And someone like Ramos can certainly make a big difference for them in the final third.  A price tag with a lower limit of £70 million should make him an appealing prospect. But the overall valuation of £70-100 million is understandable.

The Red Devils parted ways with Cristiano Ronaldo midway through the campaign and they have been overly dependent on Marcus Rashford since then. The England international has been in splendid form carrying the Manchester United attack all by himself. But Rashford clearly needs more help and support from his teammates next season, and Ramos could form a quality partnership with him in the attack.
