Juventus are willing to offer the 21-year-old Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood a summer escape route.
According to The Sun, Juventus are ready to offer Mason Greenwood an opportunity to revive his career. The 21-year-old forward hasn’t featured for Manchester United since January 2022. And, he is unlikely to take the field in the red shirt in the near future.
Greenwood joined the United youth academy back in 2007. He came through the ranks at the club and became an important part of their first team in no time. The 21-year-old was rated amongst the best young talents around the globe.
But, things took a huge turn and he was nowhere to be seen after being involved in an alleged rape and assault incident in early 2022. Manchester United had no other option than to suspend the England international who was showing signs of great promise.
The charges against Greenwood were dropped back in February. However, the Manchester United board along with Erik ten Hag decided to not involve him in the ongoing season. They made it clear that his future will be decided ahead of next season.
And, by the look of things, the 21-year-old might not stay at Old Trafford any longer. The club will look to part ways with him. However, United fear that they might not be able to get the right fee for the English forward, as a result, they would prefer sending him out on loan.
Despite having two years left on his contract with the Red Devils, the 21-year-old is likely to part ways with them in the summer. And, Juventus are willing to give him an opportunity to start fresh.
The Old Lady are looking to bolster their attack in the summer. And, they believe adding the United forward could do wonders for them. He has all the qualities needed to become a world-class forward and Juventus are willing to bet on him.
While Greenwood prefers playing as a right-winger, he is a two-footed player who can feature on the left flank as well as a striker. With Dusan Vlahovic’s future uncertain, acquiring the 21-year-old’s services could do wonders for them.
And, they are willing to bring him in on a long-term loan deal. However, they will have to cover his entire wages if they want to land him from United. And, there are a few other clubs who might push Juventus all the way for his services.
