James Maddison continues to have a good season despite his side’s flailings in the Premier League. Leicester City currently languishes in 16th spot and remains one of the relegation contenders. Yet, there’s hope; the Foxes will secure safety and keep their top-flight status.
If they do manage that, Maddison will have had a large part to play, owing to his performances. The 26-year-old playmaker has nine goals and eight assists for the Foxes in the Premier League, although his future at the Kind Power is far from certain.
In recent windows, Maddison has continually attracted interest from some of the big clubs in England, including Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United. The Magpies were keen on him in January, but Leicester will not have sold at any cost.
Newcastle retain an interest and could make a summer bid for the 26-year-old playmaker. Eddie Howe wants a marquee signing to elevate his squad’s quality and eyes Maddison as the player to improve his attacking options. The prospect of playing Champions League football would entice Maddison towards a move to St. James’ Park. But there’s serious competition from Tottenham.
Not only Tottenham but Manchester United are also keen, but Maddison may not become a priority for them. Hence, it may become simpler for Spurs to rekindle their interest and make a concerted push for the 26-year-old playmaker.
Tottenham’s interest is nothing new, as they were keen on him during January. The club have suffered on the pitch without a player of creative influence. So signing the 26-year-old playmaker becomes imperative for Spurs.
While Tottenham are considered front-runners for Maddison, they are ready to push for the 26-year-old playmaker. The competition for the Leicester star will force interested parties to rush through a move or risk increasing his asking price.

Despite having a year left on his deal, Leicester could demand £60 million for Maddison. The price may seem steep. But the 26-year-old playmaker has the calibre of a player to excel in any team. For now, Spurs will continue to monitor his situation as a summer bid could materialise once the season ends.
