Charlie Patino has decided to leave Arsenal

Charlie Patino, the 19-year-old midfielder has decided to part ways with Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Charlie Patino has decided to part ways with Arsenal in the summer. The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Championship club Blackpool. He has been impressive in the ongoing season and is all set to return to his parent club in a month’s time. But, he does not wish to continue with them.

Patino has been with the Gunners since 2015. He has come up the ranks at the club and is currently a part of their Under-21 setup. The teenager has featured in two matches for their first team and also has a senior goal.

The 19-year-old was sent out on loan to Blackpool ahead of the ongoing season. He has since featured in 36 matches for the Championship side. The teenager has scored three goals and also has four assists to his name. While his numbers are average, the England Under-20 star has been one of the most important players for the team.

Patino has been a great asset for Blackpool. He has featured in multiple positions, he has been deployed as a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder at times. His loan ends in a month’s time and the 19-year-old will return to his parent club.

However, he is not keen on staying at the North London club. The teenager feels he might not make it to the first-team squad once again. The Gunners are looking to sign a new midfielder in the summer and they already have a lot of quality in the centre of the park.

As a result, he is unlikely to make it into the Arsenal squad. And, he could be sent out on loan. The teenager is well aware of the situation and wants to move away from the club. Patino is keen on trying a new challenge.

While the Gunners are open to the idea of letting him leave in the summer, they are looking to add a buy-back clause in his contract. As a result, it will be interesting to see where he ends up playing his football next season and if there is a possible buy-back clause in his contract.
