Arsenal have been linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo once again.

Moises Caicedo was a priority target for Arsenal during the January transfer window. But the Gunners failed to agree on a fee with Brighton & Hove Albion. A report from Football Transfers claims that Arsenal will prioritise a move for the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Caicedo was a top target for Arsenal during the January window, and he is likely to be tempted once again if the Gunners come calling in the summer. It will be interesting to see if Brighton are prepared to sell him for a reasonable price at the end of the season.

The Seagulls were holding out for a premium in January. And the midfielder’s price is likely to go up after he signed a long-term contract with the club. The 21-year-old is currently on a £60,000-a-week deal at Brighton.

But Arsenal would be able to offer him a more lucrative package. In addition to that, he would be able to showcase his qualities in a prestigious competition like the Champions League with Arsenal.

Caicedo is undoubtedly one of the most talented young players in the Premier League, and he has a big future ahead of him. He has the potential to develop into a world-class midfielder. And a move to a big club could help accelerate his development. He will be hoping to test himself in the Champions League. And playing alongside elite players will only help him improve as a player.

Furthermore, Mikel Arteta has shown his coaching pedigree at Arsenal and he could help the midfielder improve further. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few months. Arsenal are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements. They have been linked with players like Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi as well.

The Gunners certainly have the finances to pull off a marquee signing. And it remains to be seen whether Brighton are prepared to sanction Caicedo’s departure now. The 21-year-old would be a superb, long-term prospect. But the Gunners are unlikely to pay way over the odds for the £60,000-a-week earner.

I would like to see Arsenal buy both Caicedo and Rice to provide a defensive brick wall behind the attacking flare they already have!
