Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of 32-year-old Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante amid interest from Barcelona.

According to a report by Fichajes, Arsenal would love to have N’Golo Kante in their ranks. The 32-year-old defensive midfielder’s future at Chelsea is uncertain. And, he could be on the move in the summer. There are a few clubs that would love to sign the French World Cup winner in the upcoming window, including Barcelona.

Kante came into the limelight while playing for Leicester City. He was an integral part of their team that won the Premier League title. The 32-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea back in the summer of 2016. He went from strength to strength after joining the Blues.

The French World Cup winner has done wonders for them over the years. However, his future at the club is uncertain. His contract runs out in the summer and despite numerous attempts, Chelsea have failed to renew his contract. And, there are a few clubs willing to push for his services in the summer.

Kante has missed the majority of the ongoing season due to injuries. He has been involved in just seven games so far. And, it might have played a role in the contract that the Blues would have offered him. However, the player has rejected the proposal forcing Chelsea to rethink.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have been monitoring the 32-year-old for a while now. The Catalan giants believe he could bolster their midfielder. And, can even be a great replacement for Sergio Busquets who is in the twilight of his career. While Kante might not be a long-term fix, he can surely offer them a few years years in the centre of the park.

However, it seems Barcelona are not the only one in the race for his signatures. They will face competition from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on strengthening their midfield as they once again push for the Premier League title next season and hope of having a long run in the UEFA Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s men led the Premier League title race for the majority of the season but have been overtaken by Manchester City of late. The major reason has been the lack of quality in rotation in the centre of the park.

Arteta believes Kante could solve a lot of his headaches. While Barcelona are also interested in him, the player has expressed his desire to remain in the English top flight in the past. With Arsenal willing to go all out for the 32-year-old’s service it will be interesting to see if Chelsea manages to keep hold of their star player.
