Liverpool have reopened channels with Jude Bellingham in a bid to re-enter the chase for the Real Madrid target.

According to Football Insider, Jude Bellingham remains of interest to Liverpool, who have reopened communication channels for the 19-year-old. After widespread reports insisted the Reds were out of the equation for the Real Madrid target, they might look to make a return in the chase.

The Jude Bellingham saga is nowhere close to its concluding stages, as media reports suggest. For the large part, Liverpool had a long-standing interest and was considered the favourite to bring the 19-year-old, who has 18 goal contributions this season, back to England.

In recent weeks, multiple sources claimed Liverpool had bowed out of the race for Bellingham, citing the enormous transfer fees Borussia Dortmund might demand. The Bundesliga giants are set to ask more than £130 million, which has called for caution with the Reds’ summer plans.

Jurgen Klopp is desperate to sign a host of midfielders and revamp the area. The manager had the vision to play Bellingham in his lineup. But the idea of spending a large chunk of the transfer budget on one player has not gone down well with Liverpool Chiefs.

With that, more stories emerged of Bellingham informing Dortmund of his desire to join Liverpool. But by then, Real Madrid had emerged as the clear front-runners. The Spanish giants were already in the race, and the player respected the team for taking their interest seriously.

Bellingham reportedly favours Real Madrid over other suitors other than Liverpool. Now, the Reds are keen to get back in the chase and know how to pursue the Real Madrid target. The report suggests the Reds would advise the 19-year-old to stay put for another year or sign a new contract with a release clause.

Should that happen, it would help reduce the midfielder’s asking price considerably for next summer. Dortmund will look to sell him this summer, considering his value will peak now than anytime later, as Bellingham’s contract ends in 2025.
