Liverpool are linked with a summer move for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, a target for Arsenal and Real Madrid.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Samuel Chukwueze is on the radar of a number of clubs this summer, including Arsenal and Real Madrid. And Liverpool will compete with the two heavyweight clubs to land the Nigerian winger from La Liga club Villarreal. His contract has a release clause worth €100 million.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can fend off the competition from the two European heavyweights and secure his services in the summer. Chukwueze has been a key player for Villarreal this season, and he has been in splendid form. The winger has 13 goals and 11 assists to his name across all competitions, and he could improve Liverpool going forward.

The Reds will need to add more goals and creativity to their attack. And the 23-year-old could prove to be a superb long-term acquisition. Liverpool have been overly dependent on Mohamed Salah for goals and creativity this season.

The Egyptian clearly needs more support. New signings Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are expected to improve next season, while Luis Diaz has returned from his long-term injury. The addition of Chukwueze will only improve Liverpool as a unit. But it remains to be seen whether the Reds can secure his services in the coming months.

The opportunity to join Liverpool would be an exciting new step in his career and it would certainly be an interesting challenge for the winger. Playing against the best defenders in the Premier League will help him develop further and a manager like Jurgen Klopp could help him improve. But Arsenal and Real Madrid are also keen on signing him.

Real Madrid need to add more quality in the wide areas as well. Federico Valverde has been used as a right-sided winger at times this season, and Chukwueze will be a more natural fit for that role. But Los Blancos are not ready to pay the big bucks to sign him. The Villarreal winger has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract with the La Liga club.

As far as Arsenal are concerned, Mikel Arteta has not been able to rotate his wingers this season. So the arrival of the 23-year-old will allow the Spanish manager to keep his key players fresh and change things around depending on the opposition. It will be interesting to see if Chukwueze decides to continue in Spain with a move to Real Madrid and snub the approach of Arsenal and Liverpool.
