Arsenal considering summer move for Mason Mount

Arsenal enters the chase for Mason Mount with the 24-year-old Chelsea star set to depart Stamford Bridge in the summer.

According to Charles Watts of Goal, Arsenal are considering making a move for Mason Mount in the summer. The 24-year-old Chelsea star could become available after contract talks have not progressed at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool were considered the favourites, but with the Gunners, the equation could change.

Mason Mount’s exit will come as a blow for Chelsea as things evolve with the 24-year-old’s situation. The Cobham Academy star will enter the final year of his contract, and talks over a new deal have not progressed, meaning he could become available.

Reports suggested Chelsea could compromise on Mount’s demands, which could lead to the 24-year-old star extending his deal. However, Goal reveals the attacking midfielder may have already rejected new approaches from the Blues and could open the doors to an exit.

A host of sides, including Liverpool, Newcastle United and the Manchester Clubs, are keen on Mount if he becomes available. These sides can pay big money if required, but the price may come across as reasonable owing to his contractual situation.

Liverpool considers Mount their priority for the summer, as Jurgen Klopp wants to add a creative presence to his midfield. The Reds may have thought to have an open run at signing Mount, but the evolving situation has brought in more suitors serious about the 24-year-old Chelsea star.

Arsenal are now considering making a move for the 24-year-old Chelsea star. The idea of a Blues player signing for the North Londoners may have gotten dismissed by the previous hierarchy, but the new owners might have a different approach.

They could open the doors over a sale to Arsenal if the price is right. Moreover, Mikel Arteta might feel Mount will suit his system and add to the quality of his attack. Much will depend on the money the Gunners might offer and the player’s preference.

If he decides to stay in London in search of regular football, even in the Champions League, the Emirates will be the perfect destination. These are only speculations about his future, but considering the source, the Gunners might be serious about the situation.
