Premier League leaders Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Martin Zubimendi and Robin Le Normand as they gear up for the transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Arsenal have sent representatives to watch Martin Zubimendi and Robin Le Normand play. The Gunners are interested in acquiring the services of the La Liga duo and have started scouting them.

Mikel Arteta’s team have done wonders in the ongoing season. They are currently leading the race for the Premier League title and are all set to return to the UEFA Champions League after a long while. The Gunners have already started planning for the next season. And, they have their eyes set on Zubimendi and Le Normand according to transfer expert Romano.

The 24-year-old Spain international has been a part of Real Sociedad since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the club and has become an integral part of their first team. Zubimendi was promoted to the first team in 2020 and has since featured in over 130 matches for the Spanish club.

The defensive midfielder has been doing wonders of late and there are few clubs monitoring him. He has featured in 35 matches in the ongoing season and has four goals. Meanwhile, his teammate Robin Le Normand has also attracted a lot of attention.

He is also on the radar of the Gunners. And, the North London club have sent scouts to watch the Sociedad duo. The 26-year-old centre-back has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2019. He has been involved in a total of 171 matches.

As far as the ongoing season is concerned the French defender has been involved in 34 matches and has been a rock in the heart of the defence. Arsenal are keen on bolstering their defence further, they have found themselves in a spot of bother because of William Saliba’s injury in the ongoing season. And, consider signing a new high-quality defender ahead of next season to avoid such a situation next season.

While talking about the Sociedad duo Romano said, “Arsenal sent their scouts to follow both Zubimendi and Le Normand this year as they’re doing excellent with Sociedad, but nothing is concrete yet,”

“The price for Le Normand is the release clause: €50m.”

While the Gunners are keen on signing Le Normand, they will have to break the bank and trigger his €50m release clause to land him at the club. As far as Zubimendi is concerned, Arsenal can negotiate a price with the Spanish club for the services of a defensive midfielder whose contract runs until the summer of 2027.

The arrival of the 24-year-old midfielder could help them bolster a slightly ageing midfield. Arsenal have taken the first step towards signing the Sociedad star but it won’t be that easy because there are other clubs interested in signing them.
