Real Madrid ponder part-exchange deal to sign Jude Bellingham

Real Madrid might offer Brahim Diaz, a target for Arsenal, in the deal to sign Jude Bellingham from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

According to a report by Football Transfers, Brahim Diaz might become Real Madrid’s sweetener in the deal for Jude Bellingham. The reigning La Liga champions are ready to offer the 23-year-old to facilitate a move for the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund talent. But Diaz is also a target for other clubs, including Arsenal.

Jude Bellingham is the hottest property in the market after going from strength to strength at Borussia Dortmund. One of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga, the teenage prodigy is also a pivotal figure for England. And his progress has captured the attention of several clubs, including Real Madrid.

The reigning La Liga champions are planning for life after Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. While the ageing midfield duo will likely remain at Real Madrid for another season, they are in the twilight of their careers. So it behoves Los Blancos to lay down the succession plan for Modric and Kroos.

Jude Bellingham has thus emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid. And the reigning La Liga champions view the teenage wonderkid as a long-term replacement for Modric. But Borussia Dortmund’s high asking price complicates matters for Real Madrid amid the impending inauguration of the new Santiago Bernabeu.

While the Merengues are keeping their options open, they will prefer to sign Bellingham. And Real Madrid might formulate a part-exchange deal to tempt Borussia Dortmund and reduce the asking price. Meanwhile, the player who will be the sweetener to facilitate the move is Brahim Diaz.

The 23-year-old is currently in his third season with AC Milan. And while he has blown hot and cold this season, his stock has risen considerably. Recent reports have linked the Spaniard with Arsenal and Chelsea. Meanwhile, the reigning Serie A champions also want to sign Diaz permanently.

But neither Arsenal nor AC Milan might land Diaz if he becomes a makeweight in the deal to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. However, it is unclear how the Bundesliga giants will respond to such an offer from Real Madrid. So it will be interesting to see if a part-exchange deal involving Diaz sees the light of day.
