Alexis Mac Allister has been linked with a summer move away from Brighton and Hove Albion, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United keen.

According to Cesar Luis Merlo, Manchester United and Liverpool are currently leading the chase to sign the 24-year-old midfielder at the end of the season. They will face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal as well.

Mac Allister has established themselves as a quality Premier League midfielder, and he was outstanding for his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The 24-year-old was a part of the squad that won the World Cup in December, and he was an important player for Lionel Scaloni and Argentina.

Liverpool desperately need midfield reinforcements, and the 24-year-old could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for them. Liverpool will lose Naby Keita as a free agent at the end of the season, and they will have to bring in a midfield controller in the summer. The 24-year-old certainly fits the profile and is well-settled in the Premier League as well.

A move to Liverpool would be the ideal step up in his career, and he could be tempted to join the Reds. Apparently, Mac Allister is highly likely to play for a new club next season and Liverpool will be hoping to secure his services.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need to add more depth and quality in the middle of the park as well. Erik ten Hag will have to bring in a reliable partner for Casemiro as the Argentine international would be a superb option to have.

Manchester United have been linked with players like Frenkie de Jong as well. The Red Devils failed to sign the Barcelona midfielder last summer. But it remains to be seen whether they can convince him to join in the summer. A move to Liverpool or Manchester United would be a major step up in the Argentine international’s career, and he is likely to be excited about the prospect of playing for those clubs.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will be hoping to add more depth and quality to their squad. They will be playing in the Champions League next season, and Mikel Arteta needs more options at his disposal. The 24-year-old would be a solid, long-term investment for the Gunners, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
