Liverpool cool Moises Caicedo interest

Liverpool have decided to take a back seat in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo, who is on the radar of Arsenal and Chelsea.

According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Liverpool have decided to put a hold on their pursuit of Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old has been a highly sought-after player lately, and he is on the radar of multiple big clubs from across Europe.

However, the Merseyside club might no longer push for the Brighton midfielder. Jurgen Klopp’s team consider his price tag too big and they would prefer to look at options elsewhere after having already dropped their interest in Jude Bellingham.

Caicedo has been doing wonders in the ongoing season. And, his performances have attracted a lot of attention. Multiple clubs wanted to sign the Ecuador international in the winter. Arsenal even had a bid rejected as the Seagulls were not ready to let go of their star halfway through the season.

The 21-year-old has been a mainstay for Brighton in the centre of the park. He has featured in 33 matches and has two goal contributions in the ongoing season. His contribution both in the defence, as well as in offence, have been exemplary.

And, Caicedo is likely to have numerous bids coming his way in the summer despite having extended his contract in March. The Ecuador international could be available for a fee of around £80 million, and Liverpool are not keen on paying that big a fee for the 21-year-old.

The Merseyside club are keen on signing multiple midfielders in the summer. Klopp is keen on reviving his team by signing multiple midfielders. Caicedo was a part of his potential targets for the summer. But the club have decided to look at options elsewhere.
