Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, a target for Real Madrid, at the end of the season.

Roberto Firmino will be a free agent at the end of the season, and he has decided not to renew his contract with Liverpool. A report from Fichajes claims that Inter Milan are preparing an offer to sign the experienced striker, a target for Real Madrid.

Firmino has 11 goals and five assists to his name across all competitions this season, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Inter Milan. The Liverpool striker has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as well.

The Spanish giants could certainly use more depth in the final third, especially with Karim Benzema being the only reliable striker at the club. It remains to be seen whether Inter Milan can fend off the competition from Los Blancos.

The Brazilian has proven his quality in Germany and England over the years and will hope to try out a new challenge at this stage of his career. A transfer to Italy could prove to be a wise decision for the Brazilian international.

The Serie A is a much less physically demanding one and the lower intensity of football could prolong his career. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old is a top-class player who has helped Liverpool win multiple trophies during his time at the club, and he could help Inter Milan win major trophies as well.

The Italian giants are expected to part ways with Romelu Lukaku at the end of the season, and they will need to replace the Belgian adequately. Inter cannot hope to head into the new season with Lautaro Martinez as the only reliable goalscorer at the club.

Firmino would be a quality acquisition for them, and the Brazilian is versatile enough to play anywhere across the front three as well as an attacking midfielder. Apart from his ability to score goals, Firmino is an exceptional footballer, who will add playmaking qualities and a relentless work ethic to the side as well.

The 31-year-old might not be at his peak right now. But he is still good enough to play at the top club, and his winning experience and mentality could prove to be priceless additions to the Inter Milan dressing room.

Furthermore, the Euro giants would be able to sign him on a free transfer because of his contract situation. And the move could look like a major bargain. It would be a no-risk transfer, and Inter must look to do everything in their power to beat Real Madrid and get the deal across the line.
