Aston Villa are interested in acquiring the services of the 16-year-old Scottish attacking prodigy James Wilson.

According to a report by Football Insider, Aston Villa are keen on signing James Wilson. The 16-year-old has been performing at an exceptional level lately, and his performances have not gone unnoticed. The teenage forward is on the radar of multiple top clubs across Europe, and Villa are keen on landing him ahead of the summer.

Leeds United are one of the clubs who have been interested in the 16-year-old for a while now. But, it seems Aston Villa are ready to hijack the deal ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, Wilson has been doing wonders for the Scottish club Hearts. The teenager has been putting in consistent performances for the Hearts Under-18 team, and his performances have attracted the attention of quite a few big clubs.

The 16-year-old is considered one of the best players in his age group in Scotland. And, the teenager is the skipper of his country’s Under-16 team. He is considered a huge prospect for the future, and Villa are desperate to sign him.

The Scotland Under-16 skipper has been on the radar of Leeds for a while now. The Whites have been looking to add a gem to their youth setup. They believe he could come up the ranks and become an integral part of their first team in the near future.

However, they will face tough competition from Villa who are keen on having Wilson in their ranks. Unai Emery’s team are ready to hijack the deal for the teenager. As per reports, the 16-year-old has already visited Villa Park over the weekend. He has held talks with the club and had a look at their training facilities.

While Hearts are trying to convince the Scotland Under-16 star to pen down a new three-year deal, he might be looking to make a move to a bigger club in the summer amidst interest from across Europe.

Villa have managed to sign quite a few young talents in the recent past. They have managed to sign Rory Wilson from Rangers last summer and Ewan Simpson from Hearts. And, they will be confident of beating Leeds United to the signature of the 16-year-old.
