Tottenham Hotspur are all set to battle it out with Manchester United for the services of 19-year-old defender Rico Browne.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Rico Browne in the summer. The 19-year-old defender has been on the radar of quite a few Premier League clubs for a few years now. And, Spurs are set to push for his signature in the upcoming transfer window.

The London club tried signing him back in the day, offering him an 18-month contract. But the player decided to stay at Birmingham instead. Browne is also on the transfer shortlist of Manchester United. And, they might make it difficult for Spurs to land him at the club.

The 19-year-old has been a constant feature in Birmingham City’s Under-19 team in the ongoing season. An injury towards the end of last season did derail his progress. But the teenager has managed to bounce back strongly.

The St. Kitts & Nevis youth international is considered a huge prospect for the future. And, a lot of clubs are keen on having him in their ranks. While he might not have made a first appearance for Birmingham, the 19-year-old surely has the potential to make it big.

Browne’s current contract with the Midlands outfit ends in the summer. The club is keen on extending it. However, there are a lot of teams interested in him, which might tempt the 19-year-old to make a move in the summer.

Spurs have not had the best of times in the ongoing season, but they are pushing for a Champions League spot at this point in time. While the club is looking for a new manager, they have already started planning for the future.

The London club are keen on adding Browne to their ranks. Spurs want to ramp up their youth recruitment. They are looking to add young talented players to their squad who can eventually break into the first team. The club admires the 19-year-old centre-back and want to sign him in the summer.

However, Manchester United are also keen on the St. Kitts & Nevis youth international. The Red Devils want to add more quality to their defence. Erik ten Hag is planning for the present as well as the future. And, he believes the 19-year-old can play an important role in the near future. While Spurs are keen on having Browne in their ranks, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to overpower Manchester United in their quest.
