Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing a new deal with 29-year-old England international Eric Dier ahead of next season.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of extending Eric Dier’s stay at the club. Spurs have offered him a new three-year deal which will run until the summer of 2026. The club are keen on penning down a new deal before the start of next season.
In the summer of 2014, Tottenham acquired Eric Dier’s services from Sporting CP. And, he has been ever-present in the team since. Initially used as a midfielder, Dier has served as a centre-back under their former manager Antonio Conte.
As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the England international has scored two goals and has an assist in his 37 appearances. The utility man has been a mainstay in their team for the last few seasons and the club is keen on extending his stay.
Eric Dier’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024, which was negotiated back in 2020. Dier earns a reported wage of £85,000 per week. With his contract running out in just over 12 months, the club do not want to risk losing out on him in the near future.
The situation at Tottenham Hotspur has been complicated of late. The London club are on the look for a new manager. Meanwhile, Cristian Stellini has been handed over the reins of the club until the summer. While they are figuring out who their next manager will be, the club is keen on extending Dier’s contract as they consider him integral to their future.
Having played 3,252 minutes for the North London-based club this season. It is clear, the £85,000-a-week utility man continues to be a reliable option at the back. With six games in hand and a Champions League spot up for grabs, Tottenham want to tie down Dier for further two years.

Spurs will surely want to end their trophy drought next season, something which was pinpointed by former manager Antonio Conte. They might want to stick to their main anchor at the back for a few more seasons. The summer will see new recruits for sure. But at present, their focus is to pen down a new deal with the 29-year-old England international.
