Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane and lead the race to sign him.

Harry Kane is undoubtedly one of the best players in world football. So it is no surprise that Manchester United are keen on signing him. A report from Daily Mirror claims that the Red Devils have an advantage in the transfer race because the player wants to continue in the Premier League despite interest from foreign clubs.

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing the 29-year-old as well. They are still looking to replace Robert Lewandowski adequately, and Kane could prove to be a sensational acquisition for them. The Englishman is one of the best players in the world, and he has a proven goalscoring record over a number of seasons.

Manchester United will have to bring in a reliable goalscorer at the end of the season. And Kane, who is a top target, could be the ideal candidate to lead the line at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have been overly reliant on Marcus Rashford this season and the 25-year-old England international has not disappointed.

He has scored goals consistently for his side. But Rashford will need more help next season. Signing a quality striker like Harry Kane will help Manchester United challenge for the top honours next term.

Meanwhile, Daniel Levy is not willing to sell the player to a domestic rival. So it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can convince the Tottenham chairman with a lucrative offer.

Kane will be a free agent in the summer of 2024, and Tottenham will be under pressure to cash in on him this summer if he refuses to sign an extension with them. The North London club will not want to lose him on a free transfer next year.

Kane will feel that he needs to join a bigger club in order to win major trophies now. The England international is 29 and is yet to win a single trophy with Tottenham. Manchester United can certainly provide him with the platform to challenge for major trophies.

The Red Devils have already won the League Cup trophy this season, and they have shown tremendous improvement under new manager Erik ten Hag. A player like Kane could help the Red Devils bridge the gap with clubs like Manchester City next season.
