West Ham United are interested in acquiring the services of 25-year-old Brazilian attacker Pedro ahead of next season.
According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham United are interested in Pedro. The Hammers have struggled to score goals in the ongoing season and have decided to enter the market in the summer in search of a new forward. They have their eyes set on the 25-year-old Brazil international.
Pedro, who plays for Brazilian club Flamengo, did try European football back in the day. He joined Italian club Fiorentina back in 2019, but things did not go according to plan for him back then. The 25-year-old then returned to Brazil and has been playing football in his homeland since.
However, his recent performances have attracted the attention of many clubs across Europe. And, they are once again willing to bet on the Brazilian’s talent. Pedro was a part of the Brazil squad that featured in the FIFA World Cup 2022, and he even made a couple of appearances for them on the biggest stage of them all.
Pedro has featured in 170 matches for Flamengo and has found the back of the net on 81 occasions. He has created 22 goals for his teammates since his return from Europe.
The former Fiorentina forward has been on fire in the ongoing season. He has found the back of the net on 14 occasions in his 15 outings. And, he has also bagged three assists. The 25-year-old’s record in front of goal has attracted the attention of numerous big clubs.
West Ham United are one of those clubs that are keen on having him in their ranks. The Hammers are currently 14th in the Premier League and are only three points clear of the drop zone. If they do manage to survive relegation their first priority will be to sign a new forward.
Despite spending a fortune on acquiring new star forwards, their record in front of goal has not improved. And, they have identified Pedro as a player who could solve quite a few headaches for the club. West Ham are expected to go hard for him in the summer if they manage to stay in the English top flight.
