Tottenham Hotspur going through a rough patch right now, but they are plotting a summer move for Pedro Goncalves.

Tottenham Hotspur have already started formulating summer transfer plans, and they are looking at players who can improve them as a team. A report from 90min claims that Sporting CP attacker Pedro Goncalves is on their transfer radar along with Liverpool.

The 24-year-old winger is highly rated around Europe, and he has been an important player for his club this season. He has 18 goals and 12 assists to his name across all competitions.

Goncalves has impressed against clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal this season in Europe. It is no surprise that the North London club are keen on securing his services. The highly-versatile winger has the potential to develop into a top-class player, and he could improve Tottenham immensely in the final third.

The Portuguese international will add pace, flair, and unpredictability to the Tottenham attack. He could also share the goalscoring burden along with Harry Kane. Previously, Kane had the support of Son Heung-min in the attack. But the South Korean international has not been at his best, and Tottenham have struggled as a result of that.

They signed Richarlison from Everton at the start of the season. But the Brazilian international has not been able to hit the ground running. The North London giants decided to bring another attacker in January. But Arnaut Danjuma has been underwhelming as well. The Dutchman is set to return to his parent club at the end of the season.

Goncalves could be a quality long-term addition to the North London club, and it remains to be seen whether he can sort out their goal-scoring problems. Furthermore, he will also help Tottenham open up deep defences with his flair and creativity.

Tottenham have already signed Pedro Porro from Sporting CP this season. And it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal for Goncalves done in the summer. Meanwhile, Liverpool have Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz as the only reliable wingers at the club.

The 24-year-old would not only add more depth to the side but also allow Jurgen Klopp to rotate his squad more often. Furthermore, increased competition for places will only help every player perform at a high level. Apart from Tottenham and Liverpool, Aston Villa are also interested in the versatile 24-year-old Portuguese international.
