A lot of clubs are interested in the South Korean international who had a splendid FIFA World Cup 2022. And, his performances for Napoli have been top-notch as well.
Liverpool and United are two top clubs who are eager to have him in their ranks. And according to journalist Luca Cerchione, the Merseyside club have an advantage over others.
Cerchione said: “To be more precise, the termination clause varies from 40 million in favour of clubs that do not play the Champions League.”
Kim Min-jae arrived at the Naples-based club ahead of the ongoing season. And, he has done wonders since joining them. The 26-year-old centre-back was signed to replace Kalidou Koulibaly who had left to join Chelsea.
The South Korean international has featured in 37 matches in the ongoing season and has four goal contributions. The Napoli centre-back has been a rock in the defence and he has hardly put a foot wrong throughout the ongoing campaign.
Klopp is keen on having a new defender in his ranks as he looks to revive the Merseyside club. The arrival of the Napoli star could sort out their defensive concerns. And, they could have a head start in their pursuit of the 26-year-old who is on the radar of Manchester United as well.
The Red Devils want to further bolster their defence and have the South Korean defender on their radar. While they do have Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martínez in their squad, the future of their skipper Harry Maguire is uncertain. And, they would love to have the Napoli star as a replacement.
With Liverpool having an advantage over United, it will be interesting to see whether they manage to prise him away or not.
