Liverpool are linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes, who could be available for just £30 million.

Matheus Nunes joined Wolves from Sporting CP last summer, and Liverpool were keen on him even before he joined the Premier League club. It seems that the Reds are prepared to reignite their interest in the Portuguese international during the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old joined Wolves for a club record fee of £38 million, but relegation this season could see him leave the club for just £30 million as per Football Insider.

Apparently, the midfielder has a £44 million release clause in his contract with the Premier League club. But Wolves could cash in on him for £30 million if they go down to the Championship. There have been rumours he could cost around £50 million in the summer.

But that will only be the case if the Black Country outfit can avoid relegation from the Premier League. Wolves have had a disappointing campaign so far, and they are currently 13th in the league table just four points clear of the drop zone.

They could easily find themselves in the bottom three with a couple of bad results. And it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Nunes has impressed with Wolves in the Premier League this season, and he has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool.

The midfielder will add energy, drive, and flair to the Liverpool midfield. The Reds are set to lose players like Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner during the summer transfer window upon the expiry of their contracts.

Jurgen Klopp will need to bring in quality replacements for the three players, and Nunes would be a superb acquisition. He is already well-settled in the Premier League, and he could make an immediate impact at Anfield. Liverpool must sort out their midfield problems if they want to get back to challenging for the top honours, and signing Nunes would be a good start.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham as well. The England international is one of the best young players in world football, and he would be an exceptional long-term investment for Liverpool.

Definitely take him. Jude Bellingham is too expensive for his sort of Money we could have, Nunes, Mac Allister and Conor Gallagher. I’d also look at some of the frees available particularly Kamada. Then clear out The Ox, Keita, Curtis Jones, as well as one of Bajcetic, Carvalho, Elliot and one of Fabhino, Hendo, Milner.
A similar action is needed in defence. With Nat Phillips, Gomez, and Matip out, two new centre backs in. Kim Min-Jae and Gvardiol would be perfect but there are others and Gvardiol is probably too expensive
