Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez who could be on the move in the summer.
According to a report by CalcioMercatoWeb, Inter Milan could lose out on Lautaro Martinez in the summer. The danger of losing out on one of their biggest stars is real. Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham are ready to pounce.
The 25-year-old striker has been amongst the best strikers in world football for a few years now. Martínez has been a part of the Inter Milan setup since joining them in the summer of 2018. He has gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons and a lot of clubs have kept an eye on him.
The Argentine World Cup winner has featured in over 200 matches for Inter Milan. He has found the back of the net on 91 occasions and has 31 assists to his name. As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the 25-year-old has 24 goal contributions in his 40 outings.
Martinez’s ongoing contract at the club runs until the summer of 2026 and Inter have no intentions of letting him leave unless they are left with no other options. The Milan-based club are currently fourth in their league and participation in the next season’s Champions League is not a certainty.
If they fail to qualify for the UCL, they might end up losing their biggest star, Lautaro Martinez. Qualifying for the European competition will bring decent prize money which will help them balance the books. If not they will have to cover it up by offloading players. And, the biggest name on the list who could raise decent funds is Martinez.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on having him in their ranks. The future of Harry Kane at Spurs is uncertain, as a result, they are looking at Martinez as a potential replacement. Even if Kane remains at the club they are looking at a potential deadly forward pairing in Kane and the Argentine World Cup winner.
Arsenal who have done a great job in the ongoing season and are on the look for a new number nine. They want to further strengthen their squad before heading into next season. Arteta is keen on having the Inter Milan forward in his ranks. And, could go all out to acquire the services of the 25-year-old.
