Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a summer move away from Rangers, with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace interested.

A report from TEAMtalk claims that Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are keen on signing 26-year-old South American striker Alfredo Morelos during the summer transfer window.

The Colombian international has been a key player for Rangers since joining the club, and he has scored 122 goals and picked up 58 assists in 263 matches for the Scottish giants. Morelos helped Rangers win the league title as well.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past as well. And it will be interesting to see if either of the two Premier League clubs can get a deal across the line this time around. The two clubs were keen on him earlier this season as well.

The Colombian forwardwill be a free agent in the summer and he could be snapped up on a Bosman transfer. Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer could prove to be an exceptional bit of business for both Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

Crystal Palace needs to add more depth to their attack, and the 26-year-old has the ability to succeed in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Unai Emery has been overly dependent on Ollie Watkins this season, and the 27-year-old Aston Villa star needs more support next season.

Morelos could be the ideal acquisition for Aston Villa as they look to add more depth and goals to their attack. The 26-year-old has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football, and his aggression could be an added bonus for the two clubs.

Apparently, Spanish clubs like Sevilla and Villarreal are keen on signing the 26-year-old as well. And the player’s representatives have already held discussions with them. That said, the opportunity to join a Premier League club could be an attractive option for the player, and he is likely to be tempted to join if Aston Villa come calling.

Villa are well placed to secure European football next season, and they will need a deeper squad to compete on multiple fronts. Meanwhile, the report from TEAMtalk claims that clubs like Everton, Wolves, Burnley, and Middlesborogh are keeping tabs on the Colombian striker as well.
