Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the 29-year-old Udinese Calcio forward Gerard Deulofeu ahead of next season.

According to Mondo Udinese, Tottenham are keen on having Gerard Deulofeu in their ranks. The 29-year-old forward was close to joining Spurs in the winter transfer window. However, things fell apart at the very last moment.

The London club had no problems meeting the demands of Udinese last time around. And, with the summer transfer window approaching they are once again expected to push for his signatures.

Deulofeu joined Udinese back in October 2020 on an initial loan move from Watford which was made permanent after his impressive performances. The 29-year-old has been an important part of the Serie A club since arriving. However, injuries have troubled him of late.

The Spain international has featured in 68 matches for the Italian club and has 32 goal contributions. While his overall impact has been great, the ongoing season hasn’t gone according to plan courtesy of injuries. But, he surely will do the damage while he was on the pitch.

The 29-year-old has ten goal contributions for Udinese in his 18 appearances so far this season. And, he is expected to return to full fitness before the end of the ongoing campaign.

Deulofeu’s ongoing contract with the Serie A club runs until the summer of 2024. And, with just over a year left in his contract, the club might look to sell him in the upcoming window. They would not want to lose out on him for free a year down the line.

Spurs are yet again preparing to push for the 29-year-old as per the reports. The London club, who are on the look for a new manager, have already started planning for next season. And, signing a forward is among their priority.

They want to add the former Watford forward to their ranks. The club believes he could act as a great cover for marksman Harry Kane. The fact that the Tottenham have been monitoring for a while suggests that they could finally land him in the summer. But, it might depend on his fitness levels and whether he is ready to hit the ground running from the get-go.
