Barcelona are interested in acquiring the services of 30-year-old Tottenham Hotspur winger Son Heung-min ahead of next season.

According to Catalunya Radio, Barcelona are interested in signing Son Heung-min. The 30-year-old wide man is a part of their transfer target list as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of next season. While their financial crisis won’t allow them to sign a player directly, they could still make it possible.

Son came into the limelight after impressive performances in the Bundesliga for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. His performances attracted the attention of Tottenham who struck a deal for the South Korean international back in the summer of 2015.

The 30-year-old has since been a part of the Tottenham squad. He has gone from strength to strength during his time at the north London club. Son has featured in over 350 matches for the London club, racking up 141 goals along with 78 assists to his name.

While the ongoing season has not been that great for him, he still has a lot of football left in him. The former Bayer Leverkusen star has been involved in 14 goals in his 37 outings in the ongoing season. His current contract at the club runs until the summer of 2025. However, he could be on his way out in the summer if the right bid arrives.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are keen on signing a new forward in the summer. They are looking for a left-side winger who can add goals. The Catalan giants are eager to do better in Europe and push for the Champions League title next season. And, they believe signing a left-winger could help their cause.

The South Korean international is one of the names on their radar. Xavi is a big admirer of Son and believes he could have an instant impact on his team. However, signing him won’t be an easy task by any means for Barcelona.

The 30-year-old has a market value of €60 million but will likely cost higher. And Barcelona cannot afford to spend that much in the upcoming summer because of their ongoing financial crisis. The only way they can land the Tottenham Hotspur winger ahead of next season is by selling a few of their star players.
