Manchester United are all set to propose a part-exchange deal to sign 23-year-old Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.
According to Calciomercatoweb, Manchester United are interested in the services of Davide Frattesi. The 23-year-old Sassuolo midfielder has been doing wonders for his club. And, he is on the radar of multiple big clubs across Europe. Meanwhile, United are pushing for him and are ready to offer Amad Diallo in return.
Diallo, who joined Manchester United back in the winter of 2021 from Atalanta, has been subject to multiple loan moves since arriving. He is yet to force himself into the Red Devils’ first team. The 20-year-old forward is currently on loan at Sunderland.
The former Atalanta winger has done a great job for the Championship side. He has 11 goal contributions in his 29 league outings. The 20-year-old is set to return to his parent club in the summer.
He was expected to have a bigger role at Manchester United. However, as per the latest report, Erik Ten Hag is looking to use him to land Frattesi. The Dutch manager is keen on having the Italian international at his disposal next season.
Meanwhile, the former AS Roma youth product joined Sassuolo back in the summer of 2017. Initially, he was subject to multiple loan moves but over the last few seasons, he has become an integral part of the Serie A club.
The 23-year-old midfielder has a total of 67 appearances for the Serie A club. He has had 14 goal involvements during his time at the club. As far as the ongoing season is concerned, Frattesi has 6 goals in 28 outings.
He has been performing on a consistent basis for Sassuolo. And, his performances have caught the eye of quite a few big clubs. While his contract with the Italian club ends in the summer of 2026. He might be on his way to a bigger club in the summer given the amount of interest in his services.
Manchester United are one of the clubs that are keen on the 23-year-old. United are likely to offload quite a few players in the summer to make room for new ones. Ten Hag is keen on adding a few more midfielders to his ranks.
Manchester United want to bolster their midfield. And, they are looking to land Frattesi at Old Trafford. Ten Hag wants more quality in the centre of the park as he looks to push for the Premier League and Champions League titles next season.
The 23-year-old is valued at around €35-40 million, and Manchester United are looking to bring down the asking price by offering Diallo in exchange. However, it still won’t be an easy task to sign the Sassuolo midfielder given the interest from a few big Italian clubs in his services.
