Marcel Sabitzer wants Manchester United stay

Manchester United signed Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich in January, and the 28-year-old is keen on a permanent move.

Marcel Sabitzer has done reasonably well in his first few weeks in the Premier League. And a report from Fabrizio Romano claims that the 28-year-old is keen on joining Manchester United permanently at the end of the season.

Manchester United could certainly use more depth and quality in the middle of the park, and Sabitzer could prove to be a quality acquisition for them. The Austrian is at the peak of his powers, and he will be a useful squad option for Erik ten Hag in the coming seasons. The 28-year-old will add creativity and drive to the Manchester United midfield.

The Red Devils will need a deeper squad to compete on all fronts next season and signing the Bayern Munich fielder for a reasonable price could prove to be a wise decision. It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are prepared to keep him at the club beyond this season.

Bayern Munich clearly do not see him as a key part of their plans going forward, and they are likely to let him leave if a good offer is presented. The 28-year-old was one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga during his time at RB Leipzig. But he has had a difficult time since joining Bayern Munich. If he can recapture that form and confidence, he could be an asset for the Red Devils.

Sabitzer will look to get his career back on track with impressive performances in the Premier League now. And it remains to be seen whether he can establish himself as a key player for Manchester United.

The Austrian has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in the Premier League. The player’s agent has recently revealed that the direct nature of English football suits his client as well.

Wittmann told SPORT1, “Marcel is a top player. It doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s performing so well so quickly. If you have as much experience as Marcel, whether in the Champions League or with his more than 60 international matches, it doesn’t take long to find your way around a club and a league like this. He loves this English hardness! It was clear from the start that the Premier League was a great fit for him. He’s an aggressive player. He does exactly what he can there. And that’s what’s needed there.”

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United will launch the offensive to sign Sabitzer in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have several midfielders on their radar. And Frenkie de Jong remains a target for Manchester United. So the 28-year-old will likely be a backup option for them.
