Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in signing PSG outcast Renato Sanches only a year after arriving in Paris.

According to 90min, Liverpool and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Renato Sanches’s situation ahead of the summer. The 25-year-old PSG ace could depart Parc des Princes in the next window after an underwhelming season at the club.

Paris Saint-Germain made some notable signings in the summer under the guidance of new Sporting Director Luis Campos. The Portuguese was a massive success at LOSC Lille, as they won the Ligue 1 title in the 2020-21 season. He ensured one of his main players followed as he came to Paris.

Renato Sanches had several offers from the Premier League as he entered the final year of his deal with Lille. After a difficult few years amid underwhelming spells at Bayern Munich and Swansea City, the 25-year-old resurrected his career in France and wanted to stay there.

PSG were the best possible destination to further his career, as Campos signed him for €13 million last summer. Little did he know what was to follow as Sanches continued to have a disastrous season. With just three league starts, the midfielder has played 652 minutes in total across all competitions.

PSG are ready to move on and sell the 25-year-old ace for a reasonable sum in the summer. The interest from Premier League clubs remains as Liverpool and Tottenham keep tabs on his evolving situation in Paris.

Jurgen Klopp will prioritise strengthening the midfielder during the summer window. Several names have been mentioned, including Jude Bellingham, as the club remains in the race for the in-demand England international.

Klopp wants more than one midfielder and could also look to bring in Wolves stars Matheus Nunes or Ruben Neves in the next window. Meanwhile, if the price is right, he could also look at Sanches and his situation in Paris.

Liverpool were reportedly keen on Sanches last summer before he chose PSG. Similarly, Tottenham are also watching how the situation unfolds as they seek a player to operate in a different midfield role. Antonio Conte has constantly bemoaned the lack of creativity from midfield and wanted to find a solution in January.

With the Italian set to depart, Tottenham could ensure they bring in a player capable of the team’s needs from midfield. Sanches could become a terrific option, who may have unfinished business in the Premier League. He could leave PSG on the cheap compared to the contract he still has there. The 25-year-old still has plenty to give on the field and have a long career in England.
